Columbia Law Students for Voting Rights (CLSVR)

Columbia Law Students for Voting Rights (CLSVR) seeks to provide forward-looking approaches to complex issues facing access to the ballot and the moral and political issue of disenfranchisement. CLSVR aims to inculcate passion for and discourse on voting rights within the Columbia Law School Community and beyond and to convene students, faculty, and practitioners who are invested in voting rights work and interested in advancing effective solutions to disproportionate representation.

Columbia Law Students Human Rights Association

Columbia Law Students Human Rights Association (formerly Rightslink) is a student-run human rights organization dedicated to fostering a human rights community within the law school. We provide students with opportunities to engage in human rights advocacy and research, as well as to connect with practitioners and academics around New York. Working closely with the Human Rights Institute, Social Justice Initiatives, and the Human Rights Clinic, the Columbia Law Students Human Rights Association organizes a variety of events, research projects, and trainings on human rights issues throughout the year.

Columbia Law Verdict

The Columbia Law Verdict is a student-run newsletter devoted to building community and elevating student voices at Columbia Law School. The weekly newsletter includes interviews, advice, opinions, and creative work throughout the semester. We seek to achieve our community-building goals by creating a shared experience for all Law School students while offering a forum for open and respectful discourse, all in accordance with our core values of fairness, accountability, and respect.

Columbia Plaintiffs' Law Association (CPLA)

Columbia Plaintiffs’ Law Association (CPLA) is a student organization at Columbia Law School dedicated to fostering the next generation of plaintiff-side attorneys. We serve as a comprehensive resource for students pursuing plaintiff-side careers by providing community support, professional guidance, and exposure to diverse practice areas.

Columbia Real Estate Law Society (CRELS)

Columbia's Real Estate Law Society (CRELS) is the law school's only organization that serves students interested in real estate law, transactions, financing, litigation, development and the real estate industry in general. CRELS fosters dialogue between real estate professionals, professors, and Columbia Law students so its members gain exposure to the inner workings of the professional real estate world and the nuanced legal structure that serves as its foundation.

Columbia Society for Legal Practice in Spanish (CSLPS)

CSLPS pursues four main purposes within the community of the Columbia Law School: (i) to promote the understanding and appropriate use of legal Spanish; (ii) to provide students opportunities to develop the language skills to comfortably use Spanish in a legal setting; (iii) to promote the understanding of the civil law tradition and help students to better understand the legal systems of some territories of the United States, such as Louisiana and Puerto Rico; and (iv) to offer students a wide range of legal Spanish and civil law-related academic and professional development opportunities by organizing networking events, lectures, panel discussions, and social events.

Columbia Society of International Law (CSIL)

The Columbia Society of International Law is Columbia Law School’s principal student group dedicated to issues involving international law. The society informs its members about opportunities to practice international law and current issues in international law; provides members in-person access to many of the top international firms; allows members the opportunity to meet leading scholars in the field; offers guidance and advice on career paths in the fields of public and private international law; and provides opportunities for American and international law students and alumni to form connections with each other that span the globe.

Columbia Workers' Rights Student Coalition

The Workers’ Rights Student Coalition (WRSC) is composed of students who care about justice in the workplace. Issues of poverty, racism, gender, globalization, immigration, sexual orientation, and disability are at the core of the group's aims to empower workers. WRSC’s goal is to educate the Law School community about labor and employment issues to improve workplace conditions and create a more just and equitable world.
