Monae A. White shares how her identity, her philosophy, and her role models shaped her law school experience and helped her determine her path forward. 

Two programs awarded funding through the inaugural round of Anti-Racism Grants—the Black Men’s Initiative and the Law School Pathways Program—are designed to help current and future law students. 

On April 18, a panel of federal judges awarded the prize for top oralist to Aneesa Mazumdar ’22 and best final round brief to Alison Hung ’22.

The five fellowship recipients—all members of the Class of 2023—are dedicated to pursuing careers in social and racial justice.

This year’s case is Unsecured Creditors’ Committee v. Better Future Housing Co. The final will take place on April 18. Mazumdar will be arguing on behalf of the appellant.

The Columbia Black Law Students Association honored alumni Leonard Baynes ’82 and Judge Richard Franklin Boulware II ’02 at an online gala and also hosted a virtual conference.
