Stephen Gordon

Stephen Gordon retired as a partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.  During his 41-year career at Cravath, Mr. Gordon was Head or Co-Head of the Tax Department for 20 years and served in many management roles, including Hiring Partner, Administrative Partner and others.  He advised clients on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other major transactions, including spin-offs, international restructurings, partnerships and corporate joint ventures. Mr. Gordon also worked with clients on issues related to corporate finance and domestic and international taxation.  Mr. Gordon was cited as one of the country’s leading tax practitioners for over a decade by, among others, Chambers USA, Chambers Global, The Legal 500 US, The Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who Legal: Corporate Tax.

Mr. Gordon now serves as a Senior Advisor to an asset management firm focused on private credit and private equity opportunities in North America and Europe.
