As a Senior Counsel in the Appeals Division of the New York City Law Department, Melanie supervises, briefs and argues appeals for the City of New York and its agencies in federal and state appellate courts. Her work runs the gamut from tort law to employment discrimination to civil rights. Melanie graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, clerked on the Federal Court of Canada, and worked in private practice and the nonprofit sector before beginning her career in public service.
