Lois Saldana

Lois T. Saldana serves as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the New York State Attorney General’s Civil Rights Bureau where she works on a wide range of investigations and impact litigation, involving local correctional facilities, policing, free speech, employment, pay equity, sexual misconduct and reproductive healthcare. Most recently, Professor Saldana was awarded the 2021 Louis J. Lefkowitz Award for her role in the Attorney General’s extensive lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors, which resulted in settlements totaling over $2.6 billion for the State of New York. 

Prior to this role, Professor Saldana was a member of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where she represented companies in commercial disputes, securities class-actions, and regulatory investigations, as well as pro bono cases involving immigration justice. 

Professor Saldana is a Fulbright Scholar and a graduate of Brown University and the New York University School of Law, where she was an AnBryce Scholar and a member of the NYU Moot Court Board.
