Elizabeth Fischer is the Managing Attorney of the Criminal Defense Practice at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, a community-based and holistic public defense office serving the residents of Harlem and upper-Manhattan. Elizabeth has been a public defender her entire legal career. She joined NDS-Harlem in 2008 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow sponsored by Latham and Watkins LLP through which she developed NDS's Youth Law Team. Elizabeth is a former fellow of The International Legal Foundation where she mentored and trained public defenders in Myanmar. Elizabeth received her BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005 and her JD from Harvard Law School in 2008.
