Justice, Truth, and Service. For her entire career in the law, these three words have served as the hallmark of Bernarda Villalona’s work. Bernarda Villalona is a seasoned trial attorney with 20 years of experience in using the law to fight for others. Her courtroom instincts made her one of the top attorneys in the country, having completed well over 100 trials in her career. Bernarda owns her law firm, VILLALONA LAW, PLLC., where she handles criminal and civil rights cases. Before owning her law firm, Bernarda worked as a Prosecutor in Philadelphia for 3 years, where she conducted hundreds of felony preliminary hearings, bench trials, and jury trials, a Prosecutor in Brooklyn for 13 years, where she served as Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Homicide Bureau trying and investigating homicide cases and served as Deputy Bureau Chief of Trials in units spanning Brooklyn’s most challenging police precincts. After leaving the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, Bernarda served as Senior Trial Counsel at Joey Jackson Law, PLLC. where she represented New York City Correction Officers in criminal and disciplinary matters. With her expertise as an accomplished trial attorney and her first-hand understanding of the criminal justice system, Bernarda has been called on as a Legal Analyst on various media outlets, including CNN, ABC, NBC, NewsNation, Court TV, Law & Crime Network, and Univision providing legal commentary on cases from around the country. 

Bernarda holds a B.A. from University at Albany, State University of New York, and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
