Section Description
This colloquium introduces students to current research in tax policy and offers an opportunity to develop skills in reading and critiquing contemporary legal scholarship. Some class sessions will cover background on key tax policy topics and introduce students to foundational concepts in public finance, but most sessions are weekly paper presentations by leading tax scholars and public finance economists from around the country. Students will be required to submit brief response papers in advance of some of the presentations, and will be expected to actively participate during class discussions. Final grades will be based on the response papers and in-class participation. Minor writing credit and LLM writing credit are available in this class.
